Does anyone have any good Memorial Day dessert recipes?

I need help finding a finger food dessert that can be put out at a picnic.Does anyone have any good Memorial Day dessert recipes?
Take a baking pan (glass type) and cover the bottom with slices of pound cake 1/2 inch thick. Then cover that with strawberry pie filling. The cover that with your favorite whipped cream. The take whole blueberries and strawberry halves and make a design like an american flag. the blue berries will be the stars (or a solid blue background for stars made of whiped cream dots) and the strawberry halves will be the red stripes of the flag

Chill and enjoyDoes anyone have any good Memorial Day dessert recipes?
no bake mud pie:

Buy a graham cracker crust....

mix ice cream with peanut butter...

pour into the crust and put into the fridge for a few hours...

decorate and top with whatever fruit you like !

Its really yummy and out of this world..
I just saw some cute little pre made tart shells at my local groceries, OR you can use those premade graham cracker crust mini pie shells and fill with and assortment of canned pie fillings, like cherry, blueberries and vanilla custard or the new ready to go cheescake filling topped with fresh strawberries, blueberries and whip cream, and viola, you have your 'red, white and blue' desserts!
Here is an AWESOME recipe for Strawberry Pie. It's not a finger food but still really good and it really easy to make. I think the people at the picnic would like it!

Patriotic Jigglers recipe

2 small boxes or 1 large box any flavor red JELL-O

2 small boxes or 1 large box blue JELL-O

1 container whipped topping, thawed

2 1/2 cups boiling water

2 (11 x 7-inch) pans

4 to 6 ounce clear plastic cups

Small star-shaped cookie cutters (optional)

Large tray

Cherries (optional)

Pour one flavor of gelatin into the mixing bowl. Add 1 1/4 cups of the boiling water and use a rubber scraper to stir until all of the gelatin has dissolved (about two minutes). Pour the mixture into one of the pans. Repeat with the other flavor of JELL-O.

Put the pans into the refrigerator and let the JELL-O chill for about three hours.

Put about an inch of warm water into the sink. Dip just the bottom of the pan (don't let the water come up over the sides) into the water for 15 seconds.

Use the star-shaped cookie cutters or the table knife to cut shapes. Use your hands to lift out the shapes onto another tray. Repeat with both flavors.

Make a thin layer of blue jigglers, then a layer of whipped cream, then a layer of red jigglers, and then another layer of whipped cream. Top with a cherry if you would like and then enjoy!

Uncle Sam Pretzel Candies recipe

Posted by luvtocook at recipegoldmine.com 6/16/01 6:30:00 am

Makes 2 dozen cookies.

10 ounces white chocolate baking squares or almond bark coating

24 thin pretzel sticks

24 dry roasted peanuts

12 large marshmallows, each cut in half vertically

24 mini marshmallows

1 (10 ounce) package candy-coated chocolate candies

Cover 2 cookie sheets with wax paper; set aside.

Heat white chocolate or almond bark coating in a microwave safe bowl for 2 minutes on high or until melted. Stir until smooth. Select 24 red candies and 48 blue candies. Set aside remaining candies for another use.

To assemble the ';Uncle Sam'; faces, place a teaspoon of the melted white chocolate in an

oval shape on the wax paper. Press a marshmallow half on the top of the melted chocolate oval for a hat. Press a pretzel stick (horizontally) directly below it to make a hat brim. Then place 2 blue chocolate candies for eyes, a peanut for the nose and a red chocolate candy for the mouth. Press a mini marshmallow below the mouth for a goatee. Repeat with remaining ingredients to make 24 Uncle Sams. Allow to harden for a few minutes, then remove candies from wax paper.
