Lamb chops on the BBQ. Prawns and scallops on the BBQ are nice too. If you are going to have sausages please make sure you use gourmet sausages. That way you are getting REAL meat and not a bunch of cereal fillers and processed meat. Pavlova with heaps of fresh fruit on top is a traditional Aussie dessert.

Try some of the recipes at Aussie Cooking. There are pavlova and lamington recipes as mentioned above as well as plenty of great mains and other sweets.
For desserts, look up how to make pavlova. It's a meringue base with a variety of fruits on top. Also, lamingtons are quite good. They are a yellow cake covered in chocolate and coconut flake.
