2 good southern desserts are peach cobbler, and pecan pie.

You can find tons of easy recipes at Allrecipes.com
For my parents 50th Birthday I threw a Texas themed Surprise party. We live in TX and had family members coming from out of state so I wanted a country theme. We had BBQ, for dessert I made some Cobbler Blueberry and Apple with ice cream, if you can't do a cobbler a pie will work. Red Velvet cake is also big out here.

Hope this helps good luck!

pecans are the state nut, so pecan pie

BBQing is indeed a favorite (and yes, BBQ sauce goes on at the very end!) - a grilled pineapple could pass.

Any easy dessert recipes for kids from anyone?

My 10-year-old grandaughter wants to help me prepare Thanksgiving dinner in some way. I think a nice, easy dessert would be nice for her to do. I can't really think of any appropriate Thanksgiving desserts that she could make that wouldn't be too difficult for her to do. Any good suggestions out there? Thanks!Any easy dessert recipes for kids from anyone?
Cheesecake is easy to do, or a whipped cream fruit salad dessert... no bake cookies or melt a couple bags of choc chips and mix with a bag of Oriental noodles and plop onto waxed paper with a spoon to make ';haystacks'; mmm yum!!

Triple Chocolate Bundt Cake (always a big hit)

1 (4 1/2 oz.) pkg. chocolate instant pudding mix

1 (2 layer) pkg. chocolate cake mix

1 (12 oz.) bag chocolate chips

1 3/4 c. milk

2 eggs

Combine ingredients in bowl and mix by hand until well blended, about 2 minutes. Pour into greased and floured 12-cup bundt pan and bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes or until cake springs back when touched. Cool in pan 15 minutes, invert onto plate. When fully cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar.

I'm a big fan of dark chocolate, so I use dark chocolate chips.

Also, I mix a small amount of cocoa powder in with the powdered sugar for dusting the cake when cooled.
Take whole strawberries (washed without greens) and put them in a bowl. Add a bit of sugar to your liking. Next, take a knife and just start cutting from one side of the bowl to the other. This will start cubing the berries. After a few minutes you will have a lovely strawberry shortcake topping. This can then be used for lots of things. You could buy those little dessert cups (the strawberry shortcake type ones) or make busuits and do the shortcakes. Or, I like to make a yellow or white cake and just pour this on top.

or just eat that in a bowl with a touch of whipped cream heh heh heh
Try Chocolate Pudding Pie.

    Applesauce Cake

    (gluten, dairy, corn, soy, egg and rice free)

    Ingredients

    2 c applesauce (not baby food as these generally have less pectin)

    2 c sugar

    1 tsp safe baking soda

    2 c flour (1 c potato, 1/2 c tapioca, 1/2 c chana or light buckwheat)

    1 tsp cinnamon

    1/2 tsp nutmeg

    1/2 tsp cloves

    1 tsp safe baking powder

    1 cup sultanas or Thompson seedless raisins

    1 c chopped nuts (optional)

    1/2 c vegetable oil or melted shortening

    Directions

    Preheat the oven to 350 掳 F.

    Prepare a 9'; x 13'; pan by spraying with a safe vegetable coating, or by greasing it and then dusting with potato flour.

    In the medium or large bowl of a mixer, gently blend the applesauce, sugar and soda together.

    In a second bowl, sift together the remaining dry ingredients several times to add air into the flours and help them better absorb liquid with retaining grit.

    Blend the dry ingredients into the applesauce and sugar mixture in small amounts.

    With the last amount of dry ingredients add in the raisins and nuts, if desired.

    Finally, blend in the vegetable oil.

    Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the cake springs back when lightly touched.
    Fruit dipped in chocolate, or with whipped cream , sugar or coconut.

    Almond Leche Flan

    INGREDIENTS

    * 1 cup white sugar

    * 1/4 cup water

    * 1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk

    * 1 (5 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

    * 6 egg yolks

    * 1 tablespoon almond extract

    DIRECTIONS

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

    2. In a heavy saucepan over medium heat, cook sugar with water, stirring, until melted and light brown. Pour into a flan pan or cake mold, tilting to coat the bottom of the pan. Set aside.

    3. In a bowl, gently whisk together evaporated milk, condensed milk, egg yolks and almond extract, being careful not to incorporate any air into the mixture. Pour into prepared pan, and tap on the counter to remove any bubbles.

    4. Line a roasting pan with a damp kitchen towel. Place baking dish on towel, inside roasting pan, and place roasting pan on oven rack. Fill roasting pan with water to reach halfway up the sides of the baking dish.

    5. Bake in preheated oven 45 to 50 minutes, until set. Let cool completely.

    6. To unmold, run a knife around the edges of the pan and invert the flan onto a rimmed serving platter. Refrigerate 8 hours or overnight before serving.
    hmm u could also serve tamarindo juice as punch or somethng..and here are some recipes that i found online...

    CLASSIC MEXICAN FLAN

    1/2 c. granulated sugar

    1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk

    1 c. milk

    3 lg. eggs

    Yolks of 3 lg. eggs

    1/2 tsp. almond extract

    1 tsp. vanilla extract

    In a small saucepan melt sugar over moderate heat, stirring frequently, until sugar is a dark, caramel-colored liquid. Remove from heat and pour into a 4-cup metal ring mold or 8 individual molds. Quickly turn mold to coat bottom and sides with the caramel. Let cool so caramel hardens. Heat oven to 325 degrees.

    Put the condensed milk, milk, eggs, egg yolks and flavorings into an electric blender. Cover and blend to mix well. Pour mixture into mold; put mold in a larger pan filled with water to a depth of 1/2 inch. Bake for 1 hour. Remove from oven and remove mold from water. Cool and then refrigerate up to 2 days. Cover mold with an inverted serving platter. Hold mold and platter together and turn them over. Lift off mold. Caramel will fall as a liquid sauce over the custard. 8 servings.

    This rich, caramel custard makes a delicious finale for any traditional Southwestern meal. Its do-ahead feature makes it great party fare too!

    QUICK PAN NACHOS

    1 large can refried beans

    1 lb hamburger

    1 package taco seasoning

    3-4 cups grated cheddar cheese

    1 medium can sliced olives

    1 large or 2 med chopped tomatoes

    1 bunch green onions chopped

    sour cream

    guacamole

    salsa

    Brown hamburger and add taco seasoning as package instructs. While hamburger simmers, spread the refried beans into the bottom of the baking dish and place in the oven under the broiler until beans are hot all the way through.

    Top beans with hamburger mixture and then spread cheese evenly over the top.

    Place back under the broiler until cheese is melted. Top with green onions, tomatoes and olives.

    Cut into wedges and spoon onto a plate, top with sour cream, guacamole and salsa then surround with corn chips.

    QUICK HOMEMADE FUDGE

    1 12-16 oz. bag cream drop candy

    1 cup peanut butter (crunchy or regular)

    Microwave cream drops for 2-3 mins until they soften and you can mix them well. Add the one cup peanut butter.

    Pour into a buttered dish. If you want nuts in the fudge, use crunchy peanut butter.

    QUICK TEX-MEX GOULASH

    1/2 lb. elbow macaroni

    1 lb ground sirloin

    1 small onion, finely diced

    2 c. tomato juice

    1 pkg McCormick's Taco Seasoning

    1 can black beans, drained and rinsed

    1 can sweet corn, drained

    2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese

    sour cream

    sliced black olives

    chopped green onions

    Prepare the macaroni according to the package instructions.

    (Note: Do not rinse the noodles. The starch left on them helps bind the goulash so it doesn't get too runny.)

    Saute the sirloin and onion in a skillet until the meat is brown and the onions become translucent.

    Drain the fat off. Add tomato juice and the taco seasoning to the meat. Bring to a boil then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 10 min.

    In a large pot, combine the noodles, meat mixture, corn, beans, and shredded cheese. Allow this to simmer for about 20 minutes or until heated through and the cheese is melted. You may need to add up to a cup more of the tomato juice if it's too dry.

    To serve: place a helping of goulash on a plate then garnish with sour cream, black olives, and green onions. It's nice to set the garnishes on the table as when serving tacos. Don't be afraid to use whatever garnishes you'd use on a taco. Some like green peppers, jalepenos, salsa, fresh diced tomatoes, crushed torilla chips, cheddar cheese. Get creative!

    A quick and easy meal idea is ';Dinner in Foil.';

    For each serving, place one of the following on a large square of heavy-duty aluminum foil:

    Boneless chicken breast; boneless pork chop; hamburger patty; salmon steak

    Season meat with one of the following: barbecue sauce, teriyaki sauce, Montreal steak seasoning, or soy sauce. Season the salmon with either dill butter, lemon butter, or a splash of lime juice.

    Place any or all of the following vegetables around the meat or fish: a peeled and quartered potato; a peeled and sliced carrot; a few pieces of brocolli or cauliflower; some whole mushrooms; a few slivers of red onion; some strips of red or green pepper.

    Season the veggies with salt and pepper, and dot with butter. Fold up the sides of the foil to form a tight packet, and bake at 350 degrees until the meat is done and the veggies are tender. This can take anywhere from 25 to 35 minutes, on average.

    While the packets are baking, put together an ';Easy Fruit Trifle'; for dessert:

    Place a layer of angel food cake or pound cake cubes in your prettiest glass bowl. Add a layer of your favorite fruit: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, sliced nectarines, sliced peaches, or blackberries are all good choices. Top with a layer of Cool Whip.

    Repeat until the bowl is full, ending with a layer of Cool Whip. If desired, garnish with a few reserved berries and a sprig or two of mint. Chill until ready to serve.

    **************************

    Serve the ';Dinner in Foil'; packets with breadsticks and a green salad. You can vary the menu according to your taste, the possibilities are endless, and clean up is a snap!

    layer that with more wafers and then place half the chocolate pudding on top. then place more wafers and top with remaining vanilla. then more wafers and remaining chocolate pudding.

    and finish with a smooth layer of whipping cream.
    i like a vanilla or chocolate cake with a layer of whip cream then a layer of strawberrys. i like ribs with honey bar-b-que sauce and a salad on side.

    It has recipes for quite a few tasty cakes and desserts that can be prepared easily from home ..
    Easiest desert I know that looks like you worked hard, LOL, would be to line the bottom of a 8 x 8 dish with vanilla wafers. Slice up 4 bananas. Mix up 2 boxes of instant banana pudding mix, shorting the milk by 1C. Fold in 1C sour cream when pudding has begun to thicken. Fold in banana slices. Pour it all on top of the wafers and refrigerate for an hour or two. Serve chilled, with or without whipped topping. If you use the fat free/sugar free pudding, skim milk, fat free sour cream and lo-fat wafers this is also a good desert for calorie watchers.

    Chocolate Eclair

    Eclair au Chocolat鈥?A delightful French classic!

    Ingredients (for 20 eclairs):

    Eclair Dough:

    2/3 cup Milk

    2/3 cup Water

    4 oz. Butter

    1 cup Flour

    5 Eggs

    2 tsp. Granulated Sugar

    Pinch of Salt

    Chocolate Cream Filling:

    6 oz. Unsweetened Baking Chocolate

    1 cup Milk

    4 Egg Yolks

    1/2 cup Granulated Sugar

    1/4 cup Flour

    Chocolate Icing:

    5 oz. Unsweetened Chocolate

    2 oz. Butter

    1/4 cup Water

    How to Make It:

    Eclair Dough:

    Preheat oven to 425掳F

    1. In a pot, mix water, milk, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil.

    2. Once butter has completely melted, take off flame, and slowly pour in flour, stirring constantly.

    3. Put pot back on flame and continue to work it with a wooden spoon. Continue stirring and kneading with spoon until the dough dries out and stops sticking to the sides of the pot.

    4. Take off flame. Add eggs, one at a time, stirring energetically.

    5. Fill a baking sac with batter. Butter a baking sheet. Squeeze out ';finger-sized eclairs'; onto baking sheet, well-spaced.

    6. Bake for 10 minutes. Then turn oven down to 385掳F and bake another 10-12 minutes with the oven door open.

    Voil脿!

    Chocolate Filling:

    1. Melt chocolate (chopped) and milk in a pot, and bring to light boil, remove.

    2. In a bowl, whisk yolks and sugar until it whitens.

    3. Slowly add flour, stirring.

    4. Slowly add chocolate and milk, stirring until homogenous.

    5. Put back in pot, bring to light boil, stirring constantly, until cream thickens and becomes smooth.

    6. When cream cools off (and eclairs have cooled off as well), you can begin filling the eclairs: Cut a small slit lengthwise, and then stuff with cream, using your baking sac or a small spoon.

    Voil脿!

    Icing:

    Almost done! Hang in there! Chocolate eclair recipes are well-worth the time they take!!!

    1. Melt chocolate with water in a small pot over a low flame.

    2. Once melted add butter, whisking the whole time. Should look shiny and creamy!

    3. Remove from heat. Spread a thin layer on each eclair, using a spatula.

    4. Wait until icing hardens a bit to serve it.

    Voil脿! And Bravo!

    Tip:

    Even if you are making fewer than 20 chocolate eclairs, make the full quantity of dough (it will prepare better!). You can always freeze what you don't use.

    Serving Ideas:

    Depending on how many people you are serving, you will want to vary the size of your eclairs. Traditionally, chocolate eclair recipes come in three varieties:

    Small for large dessert platters.

    Medium (what you most often see in the bakery window).

    It is also possible, although less common, to make one large eclair. You can serve it on a beautiful dessert plate, and cut it directly on the dinner table!

    Whatever you choose, you will be delighted (and so will your guests!) with this magnificent French dessert! Chocolate eclair recipes make everyone smile!!!

Oh and i need it in British measurements, like grams and ounces and stuff...thanks in advance!! xxxDoes anyone know any Madagascan dessert recipes for my let us travel project?
    This may help you:

    Unlike in France, desserts in Madagascar are prepared very simply. Fresh fruits such as lichee nuts, pineapples, cantaloupes, oranges, bananas or strawberries are sliced and sprinkled with vanilla bean (seeds). Often, some type of sweetened vanilla cream sauce is poured over the fruit slices.

    So what you can do is cut up some fruits (listed above) and create vanilla cream sauce and pour it over

    Yield

    Makes 2 1/2 cups

    Ingredients

    * 2 cups whipping cream

    * 1 cup sugar

    * 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

    * 1/2 cup butter

    * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Preparation

    Stir first 3 ingredients together in a saucepan. Add butter, and cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until butter is melted and mixture begins to boil. Cook, stirring constantly, 3 minutes or until mixture is slightly thickened. Remove from heat, and stir in vanilla. Serve warm.

    A moist Dessert from the Cameroon

    1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda

    1 teaspoon baking powder

    2 tablespoons butter

    3 oz / 75 g sugar

    2 medium eggs, beaten

    3-4 ripe bananas, mashed

    Pinch of salt

    Preparation:

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F / 180 degrees C.

    In a bowl, mix together the flour, bicarbonate of soda, baking powder, and salt.

    In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar, then add the eggs little by little. Add the bananas and the flour, and mix until you have a smooth batter.

    Grease a medium bread tin and pour in the batter. Put in the oven and bake for about an hour or until a knife inserted into the loaf comes out clean.

    Leave the bread to stand in the tin for 10-15 minutes before turning out onto a cooling rack; this will prevent it from falling apart.

    This is my grandma's best ever chocolate cake...fudgy and rich. It is probably my favorite chocolate dessert:

    Grandma鈥檚 Chocolate Cake

    鈥⒙?cup softened margarine

    鈥⒙?cup oil

    鈥? cups sugar

    鈥? cups flour

    鈥? t. baking soda

    鈥⒙?cup buttermilk

    鈥? t. vanilla

    鈥? eggs

    鈥? cup cold water

    鈥? heaping T. cocoa

    1.Combine sugar, oleo, eggs and oil until mixed. Add remaining ingredients and beat until smooth.

    2.Grease and cocoa a 13x9 inch cake pan and pour batter into pan. Bake at 375 for about 30 minutes.

    3.A few minutes before the cake is done, prepare the frosting so that it is just done when the cake comes out of the oven (frosting recipe follows). Poke many holes in hot cake with a fork and slowly spoon frosting over cake, smoothing as you go so the frosting sinks into the fork holes and giving it time between pouring to sink into the holes.

    Grandma鈥檚 Chocolate Frosting:

    鈥⒙?cup margarine

    鈥? T. milk (NOT buttermilk)

    鈥? t. vanilla

    鈥? T. cocoa

    鈥? cups powdered sugar

    1.Mix together all ingredients in a 2 quart saucepan and bring to a boil over medium (med-low) flame. Boil for 30-45 seconds only and pour hot frosting over hot cake as directed above.

    Chocolate ganache for topping, recipe follows

    Paula Deen (www.foodtv.com) also makes two versions of a chocolate trifle. Someone at work made the one with toffee and it was sooooo good. The other one is similar but I haven't tried it. If you want to make it super easy, depending on the recipe use premade cake, Cool Whip, premade ice cream toppings, premade pudding, etc. It still tastes great!!

    Does anyone have and quick and simple Istanbul dessert recipes for a large crowd?

    I need a simple, quick preferrably sweet dessert from Istanbul origin that can feed a large crowd easily.Does anyone have and quick and simple Istanbul dessert recipes for a large crowd?
    This is quick %26amp; easy:

    Turkish Rice Pudding

    Dissolve 1/2 box of gelatin; chop 1/4 pound of dates and mix with 2 ounces of boiled rice, 1/2 cup of pulverized sugar and 1 teaspoonful of vanilla; then mix the gelatin with 1 pint of whipped cream. Mix all well together and turn into a mold and stand on ice until cold. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Serve with whipped cream.

    Variations: add raisins, pistchios, rehydrated chopped dried apricots...

    **************************************鈥?br>

    Halkoum (like sticky Turkish Jello)

    Ingredients:

    1 lb glucose

    5 1/2 lbs granulated sugar

    3/4 lb cornstarch

    juice of one lemon

    1 ts pulverized mastic

    a few drops of food coloring if desired

    3 Tbs orange blossom water or rose water

    3 to 4 oz almonds or pistachios, chopped

    cornstarch to dust the tray

    powdered sugar

    Directions:

    Put the glucose and the granulated sugar into a large pan with 2 cups of water. Stir well and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Put the cornstarch into another large pan. Add 6 cups water gradually, stirring until well mixed. Bring to the boil slowly, stirring all the time, until you have a smooth, creamy white paste. Add this slowly to the hot sugar and water syrup, stirring vigorously so that no lumps form.

    Bring to a boil again, and cook, uncovered, over a constant low flame for 3 hours, stirring as often as possible with a wooden spoon. If the flame is too high, the bottom of the mixture will tend to carmelize.

    The mixture must be cooked until it reaches the right consistency. THis takes about 3 hours, and on this depends the success of the recipe. To test the consistency, squeeze a small blob of the mixture between two fingers. Only when it clings to both fingers as they are drawn apart, making gummed threads, is it ready. It may then have acquired a warm golden color. Add the lemon juice and the flavorings. THe mastic should be ground with a little granulated sugar to be successfully pulverized. Add coloring if you wish. Stir vigorously and cook a few minutes longer. Add the chopped nuts and mix well.

    Pour the hot mixture out about 1 inch deep into trays that have been dusted with cornstarch to prevent sticking. Flatten it with a knife and leave it to set for at least 24 hours. THen cut into squares with a sharp knife, and roll in sifted powdered sugar. The Halkoum will keep for a long time packed in a box.Does anyone have and quick and simple Istanbul dessert recipes for a large crowd?
    While we were in Istanbul we filled up on Baklava. The one difference was - instead of the traditional walnuts and honey the place I was getting them made them with pistachios and rose water syrup. Fantastic!!!!
    Noah's Pudding (Asure)

    1 cup barley

    1 cup white kidney beans (in a can), washed and drained

    1 cup chickpeas (in a can), washed and drained

    1 cup sugar

    1 pkg vanilla or 1 tsp vanilla extract

    10 cups water

    10 dry apricots, soaked in water overnight, cut in pieces

    10 dry figs, cut in pieces

    1/2 cup raisins

    Garnish:

    1/4 cup walnuts, crumbled

    Put 4 cups of water in a large pot along with the barley. Get it to boil on high heat. Then as soon as it boils, turn it down to medium-low heat and cook for about half an hour. Add the beans, chickpeas, vanilla, apricots, raisins, figs, sugar and 6 cups of hot water. Cook for about 45 minutes on medium-low heat. Stir occasionally. Pour into a large service bowl and let cool.

    Keep Noah's Pudding refrigerated. When serving, garnish with crumbled walnuts.

    This recipe is one of the oldest and best known desserts of Turkish Cuisine. It's original name is ';Asure';. When we cook Asure, it is traditional to give some away to friends and family.

    I would not make ASHURA as that is usually only made on the holiday ASHURA and it would be considered weird to eat it at other times.

    Also, mastik can be hard to find, and halal gelatin is almost IMPOSSIBLE to find unless you special order it. SO.....

    I would make rice pudding (they call it SOOTLATCH ((sutlac)) or harissi (which is Lebanese but they will like it too, and it's really easy.

    Harissi (makes about 12 large squares):

    2 cups very fine semolina

    1 cup full fat yogurt

    1.5 tsp baking powder

    1 tsp vanilla

    2 eggs white, beaten to soft peaks

    1.5 cups syrup (1.5 cups sugar and 1.5 water boiled for ten minutes...I add a cinnamon stick and 1/4 tsp of rose water/orangbe blossom water for flavour)

    a handful of roasted almonds

    Blend everything but the syrup, egg whites and almonds. Fold in gently the egg whites. Put in a well-greased pan and smooth it out with your fingers. Score it with a knife and press one almond into each square.

    Bake about 20-25 mins, cut through the squares. Bake an additional 15-20 mins, do not overcook or it will dry out. Add syrup when it's still hot and then allow to cool about 10 mins before cutting.

    Really yummy dessert recipes?

    I'm looking for a really yummy recipe for some kind of Sukkot dessert.

    Thanks in advance!Really yummy dessert recipes?
    I don't know anything about that celebration, but I do have a great dessert someone made once to a party we had and everyone loved it. It is very easy to make and no baking is required. The lady who brought it just called it a Twinkie cake or something like that. I am kind of guesstimating on the amounts because I haven't made it in awhile.

    1 box of Twinkies (may be more, but seems like one was enough) Cut the twinkies in half length wise

    1-2 cans of Thank You brand already made pudding - vanilla

    1 tub of Cool Whip

    A 6 pack of Heath bars, broken up into fairly small pieces

    All you do is layer the Twinkies in a 13 x 9 baking pan, with the middle part up. Then you spread the vanilla pudding on top of them. Then you spread Cool Whip on top of that. Then just sprinkle some crushed up Heath bars on top of that. Then repeat the whole layer again, ending up with the rest of the Heath bars on top of the whole thing, as a decoration. It is very pretty and tastes yummy!!! Best part is, if you prefer chocolate, you can do the same thing with Suzy Q's and chocolate pudding, cool whip and Heath bars. Yummy!!!Really yummy dessert recipes?
    ';Almond and Grain Tart (Pastiera di Mandorle)

    Pastry

    * 2 cups flour

    * 1 large egg, beaten, plus 2 yolks, beaten

    * 1/2 cup sugar

    * 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted with 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil and cooled

    * 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Filling:

    * 2 cups fresh ricotta

    * 1 1/2 cups sliced blanched almonds, ground to powder in the food processor

    * 1/2 cup cracked wheat, soaked in water overnight

    * 3/4 cup sugar

    * 2 tablespoons orange flower water

    * 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

    * 6 eggs, separated

    * 1/2 cup orange blossom honey

    Directions

    Mound the flour on a pastry board. Make a well in the flour and place the egg, yolks, sugar, butter and olive oil mixture, and the vanilla in the center. Proceed as you would with fresh pasta, bringing the flour in bit by bit from the sides. When the dough comes together, knead until smooth, then allow to rest 10 minutes. The dough will be very soft; chill if necessary.

    Preheat the oven to350 degrees F.

    Roll the dough out to a 12-inch circle with a thickness of 1/8-inch. Fit the pastry to the inside of a 10-inch tart pan and set aside. In a large bowl, combine the ricotta, almonds, cracked wheat, sugar, orange flower water and cinnamon and mix well to combine. Add the egg yolks and mix to incorporate completely. In a separate large bowl, whip the egg whites to soft peaks with a whisk or electric mixer. Carefully fold the egg whites into the ricotta mixture with a spatula. Pour the mixture into the pastry and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, until the crust is golden and the filling is solid. When cooled, slice and serve with the honey. ';

    I like to make crepes when I want something simple, sweet and easy. You can fill them with any fruit, top them with powdered sugar or just use jam or butter or maple syrup. mmmmmmmm

    Basic recipe: * 1 cup all-purpose flour * 2 eggs * 1/2 cup milk * 1/2 cup water * 1/4 teaspoon salt * 2 tablespoons butter, melted

    1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and the eggs. Gradually add in the milk and water, stirring to combine. Add the salt and butter; beat until smooth.

    2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each crepe. Tilt the pan with a circular motion so that the batter coats the surface evenly.

    3. Cook the crepe for about 2 minutes, until the bottom is light brown. Loosen with a spatula, turn and cook the other side. Serve hot.

    If you want apples, slice %26amp; caramelize them with butter %26amp; sugar. Saute for about 10 minutes.Anyone know nice and easy to make dessert recipes?

    Poached Pears with Raspberry Sauce

    4 ripe, but firm pears

    1 lemon, thinly sliced

    1 whole vanilla bean

    2 cinnamon sticks

    8 whole cloves

    1 10-oz package frozen raspberries, thawed

    sugar to taste

    In a large saucepan place enough water to cover the pears, the lemon slices, vanilla bean, cinnamon sticks and whole cloves. Bring to a boil, simmer for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, peel the pears, leaving them whole and the stem attached if possible. Using a melon baller, scoop out the seeds from the bottom of the pear. Cut a small slice off the bottom of the pear to help it stand upright if needed.

    Add the pears to the simmering liquid. Simmer gently until the pears are tender about 15 to 20 minutes. Remove the pears and stand them upright. Let cool slightly, then cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until cold, several hours or up to 1 day.

    For sauce:

    Drain thawed rasberries. Place rasberries in a fine meshed sieve and push the raspberries through the sieve with the back of a spoon, catching the puree in a small bowl, until just seeds remain. Discard seeds. Add sugar (or Equal) to taste to the raspberry sauce, stirring well.

    To serve, place a pear on a plate or small bowl. Drizzle with raspberry sauce.

    There are a lot of things you can do with fruit for a healthier desert. Smoothies are always good and you can make those with ice or a non-fat frozen yogurt. It's a lot of fun to dip cut fruit into yogurt or something. Check the two links I'm giving below. I'm certain you can find something there.

    QUICK PAN NACHOS

    1 large can refried beans

    1 lb hamburger

    1 package taco seasoning

    3-4 cups grated cheddar cheese

    1 medium can sliced olives

    1 large or 2 med chopped tomatoes

    1 bunch green onions chopped

    sour cream

    guacamole

    salsa

    Brown hamburger and add taco seasoning as package instructs. While hamburger simmers, spread the refried beans into the bottom of the baking dish and place in the oven under the broiler until beans are hot all the way through.

    Top beans with hamburger mixture and then spread cheese evenly over the top.

    Place back under the broiler until cheese is melted. Top with green onions, tomatoes and olives.

    Cut into wedges and spoon onto a plate, top with sour cream, guacamole and salsa then surround with corn chips.

    QUICK HOMEMADE FUDGE

    1 12-16 oz. bag cream drop candy

    1 cup peanut butter (crunchy or regular)

    Microwave cream drops for 2-3 mins until they soften and you can mix them well. Add the one cup peanut butter.

    Pour into a buttered dish. If you want nuts in the fudge, use crunchy peanut butter.

    QUICK TEX-MEX GOULASH

    1/2 lb. elbow macaroni

    1 lb ground sirloin

    1 small onion, finely diced

    2 c. tomato juice

    1 pkg McCormick's Taco Seasoning

    1 can black beans, drained and rinsed

    1 can sweet corn, drained

    2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese

    sour cream

    sliced black olives

    chopped green onions

    Prepare the macaroni according to the package instructions.

    (Note: Do not rinse the noodles. The starch left on them helps bind the goulash so it doesn't get too runny.)

    Saute the sirloin and onion in a skillet until the meat is brown and the onions become translucent.

    Drain the fat off. Add tomato juice and the taco seasoning to the meat. Bring to a boil then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 10 min.

    In a large pot, combine the noodles, meat mixture, corn, beans, and shredded cheese. Allow this to simmer for about 20 minutes or until heated through and the cheese is melted. You may need to add up to a cup more of the tomato juice if it's too dry.

    To serve: place a helping of goulash on a plate then garnish with sour cream, black olives, and green onions. It's nice to set the garnishes on the table as when serving tacos. Don't be afraid to use whatever garnishes you'd use on a taco. Some like green peppers, jalepenos, salsa, fresh diced tomatoes, crushed torilla chips, cheddar cheese. Get creative!

    A quick and easy meal idea is ';Dinner in Foil.';

You can vary the menu according to your taste, the possibilities are endless, and clean up is a snap!

    and finish with a smooth layer of whipping cream.
    i like a vanilla or chocolate cake with a layer of whip cream then a layer of strawberrys. i like ribs with honey bar-b-que sauce and a salad on side.

    Ingredients

    * 2 cups whipping cream

    * 1 cup sugar

    * 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

    * 1/2 cup butter

    * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Serve warm.

    2 medium eggs, beaten

    3-4 ripe bananas, mashed

    Grease a medium bread tin and pour in the batter. Put in the oven and bake for about an hour or until a knife inserted into the loaf comes out clean.

    Do you consider brownies dessert? I love these:

    Truffle Brownies

    Recipe courtesy Dan Smith and Steve McDonagh

    Recipe Summary: Prep Time: 15 minutes, Inactive Prep Time: 1 hour, Cook Time: 20 minutes, Yield: 8 brownies or 32 mini triangles

    2 eggs

    1/2 teaspoon salt

    1 cup sugar

    1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

    1 stick margarine

    3 ounces unsweetened chocolate chopped

    1/2 cup all-purpose flour

    Chocolate ganache for topping, recipe follows

    Special equipment: 9-inch round foil cake pan

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

    Using a hand held electric mixer, beat the eggs and salt together in a large mixing bowl until frothy. Add the sugar and beat until the eggs are thick and pale yellow, about 2 to 3 minutes. Add the vanilla extract and beat an additional 30 seconds.

    Put the margarine and chocolate in a microwave safe container and microwave on high for 1 minute. Stir to insure that the chocolate has melted. Microwave an additional 30 seconds, if needed.

    With the mixer running, pour the melted chocolate into the egg mixture. Add the flour and beat 1 minute. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and beat an additional 30 seconds.

    Spray the cake pan with a pan release spray and pour in the brownie batter. Place the pan on the top rack of the oven and bake 15 to 20 minutes until the center is barely set.* Remove the pan from the oven and let cool. Top with the ganache and place in the freezer for at least 1 hour.

    To serve, remove from freezer and slice immediately. Allow to come to room temperature before serving.

    *Cook's Note: If tested with a toothpick the center will still be gooey. If tested by touch, the center will be soft. It will set once frozen.

    Chocolate Ganache:

    1/2 cup (4 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips

    1/4 cup heavy cream

    Put the chocolate chips and cream into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Remove the bowl and stir with a whisk or fork until well mixed. Use immediately. If using the ganache later it will need to be reheated. Yield: 3/4 cup
